Pros

Coworkers are generally good. Pay is also fairly decent for the area especially for fresh EMTs

Cons

Management is hit or miss. Some people are ok, others are rude with a penchant for favoritism. Hours are long or short depending on the shift, but you will generally be run into the ground as long as the company can make money. Frequently we take on more calls than we can handle from other companies or from hospitals which leaves our regular patients waiting for hours. Benefits are a joke too, but you generally don't find decent benefits in EMS outside of philly fire.

Dear employee, I'm sorry you feel like you are being run into the ground. For EMS it is always busy, and the best way for the company to grow, which helps everyone, is to expand its influence in these hospitals. The company making more money means everyone can get more, whether it's benefits or wages. In terms of benefits, the company offers a shared health plan, vision, short-term disability insurance, accident insurance, paid-time off, shift differential, and more, on top of paying higher wages than virtually every other private ambulance company in the area. I am sorry if your experience was less than good, and I hope things get better for you, but it would be helpful to explore what the company actually offers before making judgments regarding benefits and other things.
