Very problematic senior leadership - Anonymous employee Sagepath Employee Review

Pros

There are some wonderfully talented people employed here who work incredibly hard. The pay is competitive, and they have resources since Sagepath is now owned by Reply.

Cons

The executive team here is problematic, and that is being charitable. Sagepath is a "yes man" culture, in that everyone agrees with the CEO no matter what. None of the other leaders have any experience outside of Sagepath, which shows in the way they manage the team. And they are micro-managers to the extreme. Another review talked about how company leaders talk to clients without telling you, and that is 100% true. Promises are made, and conversations, had that impact the project teams without involvement of those teams. Conversely, I also saw many examples of less than honest dealings with clients - hiding truths, over promising to win business, and a lack of transparency. That lack of transparency is also abundant in the way employees are dealt with - if you are not in the inner circle here you will not be told what is happening. Most problematic was some of the racist humor I overheard, some by senior leaders (again, another review mentioned this too). This is a 99% white company for a reason, apparently.

Pros

As a member of the digital marketing organization, from my desk with an amazing view of Buckhead and Dunwoody, I was able to watch first hand how hard everyone worked to ensure client satisfaction. When you are a client, you can expect a true partnership - someone who understands your business, what success looks like, and how best to achieve that success. COVID was hard on this organization, which is made up of employees who have been with Sagepath Reply for a long time (some who returned after trying out other organizations). Sagepath has always been known for kickball games, happy hours, and other get togethers. In fact, longtime friends work here. The hybrid situation (being in the office is not required) makes those experiences difficult to replicate, but the teams are working hard to find ways to continue this culture.

Cons

As the Reply acquisition continues on, more structure and rigor has been added to Sagepath's processes and procedures. In the future, this will not be a con and should be a good thing for Sagepath. Near term, the process has impacted culture and it will take a thoughtful approach to ensure everyone feels good about the next steps.
