Pros

No dress code. A small company with about 4-full-time employees. 2-Summer Part-timers.

Cons

This is the worst place that I have ever worked. No health, 401K or retirement benefits. The boss is possibly a paranoid narcissistic sociopath. In my experience, he was a hypercritical, micromanager, drunk on power. He was hypersensitive if you disagree or challenge him, especially if you defend yourself with the truth. When you talk to him you are not allowed to use pronouns. He will gossip about present and past employees negatively, manipulate and gaslight you. This company has perpetual revolving door. My advice RUN! But if you decide to hire on, to save your sanity, google “how to handle a narcissist boss according to a psychotherapist”. Keep a daily journal on your home computer and email the daily pages of importance to your self from your own computer (not work computer). This way you will have a time stamp as proof of when it was written.

Sand Socks Response

Sand Socks, Inc. is an exceptional company because of it's exceptional employees. We are small, close-knit team where each individual does not hesitate to go the extra mile for their co-workers, our customers, and for the growth of the company. ----The review was written by a disgruntled former employee, who spent nearly 3 years at the company, expressed anger at her termination, and was terminated after extensive feedback, coaching, and reviews, but simply did not want to contribute at the level of the rest of the team. The reviewer's personal attacks say more about the reviewer than anyone else at the company. Our team spirit is reflected in events such as one employee offering her home for the company Christmas party, several of the other employees spending their evenings on-line gaming with each other, company outings such as paid bowling parties, kayak trips, and BBQ's at the boss' house - where even the angry reviewer attended with her spouse when inclement weather prevented the other staff from attending - and, yes, the occasional company-paid lunch (the staff favorite location is Perry's). I am proud to be able to work with such an energetic, synergetic, productive team and disappointed that the reviewer chose not to input the level of effort to continue to reach her potential.

Pros

I was an office manager for 3 years. Fast paced fun place to work small office - only 5 or 6 people, depending upon the season. A few more part time workers during the Spring season. The top level managers were demanding but understanding. Some days would be be hectic and almost overwhelming as the CEO insisted on perfection, but in turn employees were given flexibility when needed. Almost all of the employees had families/children and the accommodations offered here were a welcome distinction between the rigid hours of a big company. Most importantly I was in an environment where everyone was asked to pull their own weight. I never had a situation where I felt like i was carrying someone else's weight or cleaning up another after employee's foul. PROs: Team environment bonuses/ extra paid time off at Christmas occasional company outings - kayaking, volleyball, lunches

Cons

Sometimes supervising inexperienced warehouse staff, often part time students, was tedious. no health benefits demanding boss

Pros

- Great set of co-workers - Fun, energetic environment - Always a diverse set of tasks, never got bored doing the same thing - Was given many responsibilities, trusted to solve problems I've never seen before but could always go to the manager or co-workers for advice or guidance. - The energetic, motivated environment made me feel like I could always count on my co-workers to step up and deliver - 3 of the top 4 people in this 7-person company each had 10+ years running their own business, this resulted in a "take ownership and deliver" attitude which was viral amongst nearly all of the employees. - Good cash bonuses, company lunches, extra time off at the holidays and flexible schedules when needed - people who showed promise and ambition were promoted quickly, some outside their original field of hire (i.e. warehouse guy was given the opportunity to move into sales/admin)

Cons

- Can be very fast paced during the busy season (Spring and Summer) - Boss is very particular and detail oriented - not a place for thin-skinned people - no health insurance offered
