Pros

Great technology, generally good people to work with, has a strong purpose and direction, and the sales teams and engineers are great people to work with.

Cons

Benefits included in the package offered are not actually delivered i.e a pension as UK banks will not give them an account as they cannot either identify or disclose some of their investors. I only learned this shortly after joining. Another con for me was having a manager that turned a job I was so excited about, and worked really hard to get into, turned into the worst employment experience i have ever had. My experiences included being yelled at over calls, having my expenses withheld because a photo of a receipt was not the "right way round" , being told after four weeks I was asking "too many questions !". There is guidance about being in the office (UK) and being able to work from home one day a week (Wednesday) , my experience after being in the office every day for four weeks was I sat alone in the office for many days, particularly on Fridays, where for nearly every Friday I sat in an empty office .. so following what seemed to be normal, I worked from home for a few days , I was then bawled out by my manager for not being in the office, so I returned to office working where I sat in a near empty or an office with four people max and then empty for the rest of the week, including HR, managers, etc etc who were WFH . Apparently in a senior role you are not trusted to work unless you are in the office... There were people I saw once in the office in my entire tenure.. . Ref the approach to marketing , you go through a presentation process of what you bring in terms of marketing ideas through the recruitment process , and think you will get to implement great ideas and there is going to be a chance to input to the how and the why etc - you wont get to do this , there is email marketing and follow up by SDR's to email marketing that's it , and a little bit of LI messaging .. . and repeat. Frankly working for this manager made me ill, and on my partners insistence I resigned. Scandit has high employee turnover with five people leaving in or around the same time as me, I cannot speak for their experiences, but it seems very high for a company of this size.

I’m sorry that you’ve had a bad experience. We try our hardest to make Scandit a place where people love to come to work, and of course as a growing company, we’re not going to get everything right all the time. I think you’ve misunderstood some of our internal communications about our efforts to improve the UK benefits provisions: We absolutely do comply with the UK Pension Regulator’s guidance. We’ve also now increased our pension contributions to 8% employees are no longer obligated to contribute. We are very proud to disclose and be associated with our amazing investors. Find them here on our website: https://www.scandit.com/company/ What we have been struggling with is a very firm banking compliance rule that many privately held companies with globally distributed institutional shareholders are facing. Here’s a link with further information on the legal requirements. http://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/CBP-8259/CBP-8259.pdf Due to this requirement, it is true that it took us a substantial amount of time and effort to establish our UK bank account, however, I am very happy to report, that this has now happened. We believe in flexible working. Being in the office should benefit the team and create a collaborative environment. Clearly, people are busy and out meeting clients, so there will be days where few people are in the office. I take your point that we could be clearer about what working from home means and what is expected of an office-based colleague. Scandit is a rapidly growing company. In the last 12 months, we’ve more than doubled our team around the globe. You have seen the volume of change that this fast growth brings with it, and while it’s exciting for some, not everyone enjoys this environment. We take your feedback and will try to explain even more clearly during the recruitment process, what working inside a rapid growth environment means and how it may feel to some people. We wish you all the best for your next step. If you do have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know directly.

Pros

team culture is phenomenal, they are really good about granting time off and overall the managers are very supportive. Team events are fun and good work/life balance.

Cons

the culture at Scandit is very relaxed - people did not have a "get it done" attitude and were mostly focused on socializing and building team connection. That is great but I felt they took it a little too far and did not work very hard. Difficult to grow career in that environment. Overall not a bad place to work but not really a place for significant growth.

Hey there, Thank you for investing time to give us your honest thoughts. It’s great to hear that you’ve had positive experiences with the team, management and our cultural events. Fostering an enjoyable workplace culture and valuing the contributions of our people remain a high priority for us at Scandit. While “Getting Things Done” is one of our core values, we recognise there’s always opportunity for growth. One key area we’ve identified for improvement is addressing organic silos between departments. These challenges are often part of the journey for high-growth tech companies, and we’re committed to tackling them. In regards to career growth, this is also a key priority for us, and over the past year, we’ve taken several steps to improve in this area. These include a defined career path framework across departments and a dedicated learning budget to help our Scandits reach their goals. Your feedback is invaluable as we continue to grow and improve. Thank you for being part of our journey and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
