Pros

Very little good to report

Cons

Among the worst workplace cultures I have encountered, with extremely high turnover, particularly in senior roles. Leadership takes little accountability and mistakes are frequently pushed onto teams rather than owned. Communication is poor, expectations are unrealistic, and the environment often feels fear-led rather than supportive. People are regularly frozen out, yelled at or dismissed rather than developed. Roles disappear with little notice or explanation. Internal dynamics appear to outweigh capability, governance and modern leadership practices, making it very difficult for experienced professionals to operate effectively. There is no meaningful HR structure and the rigid five-day office culture offers no flexibility. If you have a family, this environment will be extremely difficult. Even basic things like attending a doctor’s appointment or leaving early are clearly frowned upon, creating an environment where people feel unable to prioritise basic personal responsibilities. For a brand that positions itself as modern, the leadership style, processes and ways of working feel increasingly out of touch. That disconnect is now beginning to show in the product as well, which sadly feels rather dated.

Pros

Working at Scanlan Theodore has been a great experience. It’s a company that values professionalism, discipline and performance. Sales goals matter, and strong results are recognized and rewarded. What stands out most is how involved and down-to-earth leadership is, including the CEO. There are genuine opportunities for growth for those who are aligned with company policy and committed to maintaining standards. It’s not for everyone — but for those who are driven and mature, it’s a great place to grow.

Cons

Hourly pay and commission potential is strong but goals are ambitious and require consistent effort and strong selling capability. Also witnessed staff who don’t respect management which creates tension in a small team.
