Pros
The work culture at Second Home is excellent, people care about your wellbeing, and it’s a very diverse, inclusive environment. There’s real attention to social issues and how to approach them fairly, which isn’t something you find everywhere. I started before the management changed, and I’ve seen a big improvement since then. The new team brought a better structure and overall clarity to how things are done. My manager was supportive, always creating space to grow and also encouraging my creative side, which made a real difference to how engaged I felt. It’s not a static workplace. something I really appreciated about upper management is that they’re always looking forward, trying to improve both the work environment and the service itself. The space itself is beautiful, being surrounded by plants, light and nice furniture all day really does have a positive effect. Events are great too, and the general team vibe is friendly and open. My close team in particular was lovely to work with.
Cons
There’s always room for growth, and in my case, I would’ve welcomed a few more clear opportunities to evolve from my role. That said, I saw encouraging signs that the new management is actively working on career development paths, so I’m confident this will improve for future team members.
