Pros
This place is full of great people, all with good intentions and wanting to do a good job. Hopefully with some new blood coming in, this company can get to where it CAN be. The technology is sound, the mission is awesome, and this organization has the potential to be a force to be reckoned with. I was presented with an amazing opportunity to create change, unfortunately for me working here was just not a fit, my background and experience was not suited for this type of environment. I realize now how little I know about how a small privately owned business operates or even should operate. I was certainly out of my element, and the culture shock was profound for me.
Cons
Unfortunately many years of mismanagement has led to quite a backlog of things that need to be fixed, and some of the steps they are taking to do so, certainly leave some questions. First let me be clear, for me it is not about dislike for this company, I fully support what they are doing, and the directions they are heading. I worry however, that without some intervention, they will end up where they were just a few short months ago. There is a lot of cleanup and work that will need to be done to get this place to where it should and needs to be. I feel there are people who are very much not qualified to do the jobs they are in. There are others who are so rooted in the past that the change that needs to occur is going to be rough. These are just a couple of "brick walls" that you will run into working here. There are also some very serious ethical issues that must be dealt with, if they want to have any chance of success.
