Pros

- The company culture is amazing. Every department bonds together and works towards company goals, overcome challenges, or any other roadblocks. - Company is growing at a rapid rate in terms of team members and senior employees are staying! I would say churn rate is low especially within supply chain industry - Benefits have been improving every year. We now have matching 401K, 8 weeks maternity leave, Medical, Vision, Dental, disability, life, PTO, Sick days, and etc I can't remember everything - We're 100% fully remote and if you want access to wework to meet local team members or just work a few days out of the week they will reimburse you for it. - Company events, even though we're remote we will host virtual events, cooking, planting, escape rooms, and in person company retreats (though this has been delayed a few times due to COVID) - Similar to culture but I wanted to highlight the attitude and personality of majority if not all the team members are just amazing. Doesn't matter what background you have who you are the team is all very welcoming. - Potential for growth is truly there. Multiple team members have been promoted from within and hard work really does pay off here! - Hustle mind set for sure. This could be good or bad depending on your attitude. Working hard building something impactful to the world makes me happy.

Cons

- Work life balance isn't always there. This is still considered an early stage start up at the time of this review with a recent Series A funding. It’s all about scaling now and often we're working with strict deadlines or high expectations. A few management team members (depending on your department) often work late into the night but the people you work with makes this more bearable. - Communication with executives can be improved. There are side conversations that happens which can prevent some items from moving forward or leaving some team members confused on the next steps. This doesn't usually cause any big issues just often requires double checking. - Less important projects but still crucial often gets left unassigned and untouched. Often request from departments gets delayed or forgotten about. Again, this is because each department is very busy working on high ticketed items and why we're constantly hiring. - Some people get stretched across multiple departments, but I guess this depends on your role.

Pros

Remote office. Co-workers try to support one another and genuinely care. Competent and Professional VPs of Product and Ops.

Cons

Very high turnover for Account Executives and sales management. The CRM is like a roll call of the dead, with the many unsubscribed users serving as testimony to the revolving door in the sales organization. At times the CEO refused to acknowledge market conditions, resulting in many lost opportunities. She would periodically micromanage and snipe at the sales team for a few weeks, and then move on to chasing other shiny objects, undermining the sales leader and usually leaving a mess behind in her wake. In one example of flying shrapnel, she mandated that the Account Executives conduct a calling campaign on "leads" that didn't remotely match the ICP. No verifiable shipping volume, and in most cases not even a website or business email. Needless to say, this was totally unproductive and damaged morale. Feedback and opinions contrary to the views of her majesty aren't well received. She can exhibit a nasty streak when she gets pushback or things don't go her way, and at times she was disrespectful toward AEs. Like a lot of tech companies, Shippabo likes to sell itself as a place with a unique culture. Insert the IV and take a dose of Kool Aid. And most of the employees take the dose and give it their best. But the reality is that it's just another start-up treading water and struggling to compete in a crowded space, with a toxic CEO who needs executive coaching, if not an exit plan.
