Pros

- Remote-first company with a huge emphasis on flexibility - everyone is really accommodating and ready to adapt. - Employees are smart, experienced, and excited about projects. They are also a ton of fun to hang out with outside of work! - The company is undergoing a lot of growth, so there are many opportunities to take on bigger responsibilities and challenges you wouldn't normally get at a larger company. - Everyone is super kind and willing to help each other out - I joined as an intern and my teammates/superiors were great mentors and guides. I learned a lot by doing, and in a short timeframe I gained a lot of experience that I don't think I could have gained in any other setting. Most importantly, my managers and fellow teammates were committed to helping me grow in the way I wanted to and always took a lot of care to make sure that what I was working on was aligned with my interests.

Cons

- SVI is still growing, which leads to some instability among projects and assignments. It's essential to have a flexible and open mindset if you want to work here.

Pros

- Remote working since pre-pandemic with in person touch points means the team has built norms and cadences that allowed experienced team members like me to have focused down time and flexibility to do great work while collaborating and building relationships with peers. People reach out to check in how you are doing as a human not just a team member - it goes a long way! - Strong colleagues who are skilled at what they do and care about the achievement and well being of their teammates and team as a whole. - Interesting work with a variety of different projects that have let me work on some of the most interesting and challenging business and technical problems in my career. - Room to grow, be your most effective, and take as much responsibility as you want. SVI has been a place where I've truly felt that the org supports its team members rather than "getting in the way" of work like other larger orgs I've been a part of.

Cons

- Need to be professional and autonomous. This is a great place if you're a professional who can work autonomous and collaboratively. It's not a great place for people who need to be micromanaged. Those who aren't self motivated to do good work will have a hard time keeping up amongst strong colleagues. - Get flexibility and give flexibility. This is a good place for balanced work/life integration but can be harder for those with rigid schedules who need complete structure at all costs.

We could not agree more, and thank you for sharing your insights with our future team members! SVI is not a good place if you prefer structure and schedules over flexibility and autonomy. We strive to make this a positive and fun environment and give people all the room and options they need to grow into new roles and responsibilities.
