Pros
Decent exposure to fintech systems. The product space has potential if leadership ever gets out of its own way.
Cons
**I'm writing this so other capable candidates can make an informed decision before joining.**
Leadership was insecure and unsupportive. Suggestions for technical improvements were routinely dismissed, and there was a clear pattern of undermining team members who showed competence, rather than encouraging growth. Credit for work was rarely given to the person who actually did it.
Probation was extended without clear or fair justification, and this was used as leverage to deny basic rights like leaves and WFH, even when genuinely unwell. Promises around permanent placement were made repeatedly and pushed back over and over before being ghosted entirely.
Micromanagement was excessive and petty, down to monitoring whether you were at your desk at a given moment, even when all your work was done.
Senior leadership lacked the objectivity to evaluate leads independently and there was little assessment of whether someone was actually fit for the role. When conflicts arose, the subordinate was always assumed to be at fault, a lead's actions were rarely questioned, which is a sign of weak organizational accountability.
