I have read all the reviews posted on this site and would agree that for the most part those that are negative are painfully accurate, but only from an historical perspective. It is true that in the past, most everything organizationally, financially and technologically that could have or should have killed our company was part of the everyday struggle at SmartEquip. But we didn’t die. Instead, we made the changes that are so hard to make when transitioning from startup mode to production mode in a technology company. Having a determined company founder who recognized and accepted what needed to change, finding the financial and managerial resources to make those changes and working hard as a team enabled us to power through to the other side. We are now growing rapidly with robust products and continued development of new products and markets. Successful on-time product implementations are routine. Middle management responsibility is emerging with employee promotions and new hires. We are re-building existing customer relationships and building new customer/partner relationships that are focused on collaboration and mutual profitability with some of the most recognized companies and brands on the planet. There is excitement, scalability, technology and real opportunity at SmartEquip along with the financial and managerial resources to support significant organic growth.
Cons
SmartEquip is right in the middle of building business processes and culture that improves communication, teamwork and performance. That means that there are still going to be some rough edges for a while. But it also means that employees have a voice and an active part in making important changes and definitely have the attention of senior management. This is not a “con” as much as it is a “heads up”. SmartEquip is transforming into a high performance, customer focused company. Building that environment will require change and sometimes change can be disruptive in the short term in exchange for huge dividends in the long term. There is significant work being done and yet to be done in rebuilding some customer relationships as well as updating with new technologies. This is not for the fainthearted but when completed, it will be extremely positive for our customers and gratifying for employees.
