Pros

Product offers real value in the marketplace. Fair compensation upside for the industry. Sales comissions based on a percentage of license revenue generated.

Cons

There is really only one product sold by the company, which limits the potential for future growth. The Board of Directors and executive leadership seems distracted by a focus on selling the company and exiting the industry rather than investing for future success. "Career tracks" are never discussed or planned for, encouraging any upwardly-mobile employees to leave.

Pros

Very talented developers, great business value, solid customer base. Good start-up environment with reasonable funding. Hired the right people for the right reasons in most product development and delivery teams.

Cons

Single-vision of getting sold sometimes hampered the ability to make the best talent and technology investment decisions. Egos at the top made for a challenging environment, but still an educational one.
