Pros

- Nothing, except average salary and some flexible working hours

Cons

- very poor organisation within company - absolutely no leadership of top-management - arrogant and often open agressive managers - enterprise micro-management methods applied to startup - chaos everythere, no ownership of anything - people come and go faster than at some body-shops - very strange HR processes - absolutely no company vision, only bla-bla-bla and nice power-point slides - a lot of good, motivated people left shortly - absolutely no understanding how delivery works - they have no idea about people management - no career development - they better hire some externals to fill in positions - absolutely no transparency on all levels - multiple management levels without clear delivery strategy

Pros

Fantastic team members Diverse employees Good office location

Cons

I was employed as part of the Customer Experience team at Canary after the acquisition of the company by Smartfrog Services GmbH. Recently, I would estimate that a third of the team was fired or had their contracts not renewed, because they supported an initiative to implement a Works Council within the company, to ensure that employee rights were being upheld. It is known within the company that unpaid promotions are commonplace and could go on for months before contract changes were provided, without financial compensation for the previous months worked. Employees had also been asked to perform tasks that incriminated them in illegal activities. Employees had also mentioned to management that the company had provided almost zero support for home office. Anyone without a stable internet connection was expected to work from the office, even during the height of the pandemic. The response from the company said that we should be grateful as no one was fired during COVID-19. Once the Works Council initiative had been started, the CMO/COO said that the company would have no choice but to move operations to another country. If that doesn't say enough about how much this company wants to repress its workers' rights, I'm not sure what else will be.
