Pros

Great ideas. Heavy optimism. Well meaning founder. Might regroup and try to grow again - hope so. Beat the odds!

Cons

Great ideas implemented in the middle of creating that last great idea and 15 minutes before meeting with the customer. Over-optimism to staff and customers to the point of unreality - includes salary, benefits, responsibility, customers actually on contract. You know, the little things. Lack of transparency is a little bit of an understatement...we're rocking it - oh wait we're broke. Don't worry, shadow stocks will make you a millionaire, go ahead and buy that new car - oh wait we're out of money, you're all fired except bare minimum programmer staff. Good luck! If you did not figure out the super positive review is from marketing guys you should probably believe them and go make that billion!

Thank you for the review, this feedback is really important to me and our company. At times, it is a challenge to plan the growth of a fast growing entrepreneurial organization. At the start of this year, we had to work through a transition that required we let a few people go, which I just did not predict well enough in advance. We have put in place systems to prevent that in the future. With that said, I believe that we have much to be optimistic about at Smartvue. We have doubled revenues every year over the last three years and we have closed a $15M financing round to support our continued growth. I am also proud to offer a stock option plan to all of our employees and did the same at the last company I started, which is now owned by IBM. Thanks for the note about transparency, it is important to us that our team believe in our company and what they are committing a big part of their lives to.

Thank you for the feedback, its important to me and the company as a whole. I appreciate the comment about communication, we work hard to be transparent and "share" in our growth as a company. In regards to turnover rate, as you may know, Nashville is growing dramatically and competition for talent continues to grow at the same time. We are launching a proactive effort to make sure we stay ahead of the growth to continue to offer the best jobs, with the most interesting growth opportunities, at the best salaries in Nashville. In regards to workload, I will bring that to the attention of our executive staff for individual reviews. We are committed to a balanced work environment.

Pros

I've really been enjoying working at Smartvue, and I think there are a couple key reasons for this: - I really do think we have a great team, and I'm tremendously grateful for that. - The leadership has shown itself to be wonderful at understanding how to handle issues that can crop up. I truly appreciate that the attitude is never finger pointing, but "what do we learn and how do we get better". This alone has gone a long way towards really endearing me to the company. - The product itself is continuing to evolve, and that makes it something exciting to work on and be a part of.

Cons

We continue to evolve the product on a daily basis, which is great. However, this can mean that we don't have time to work on some things that might be worth giving attention to. I think we're doing a decent job of prioritizing, though. So, this may not be much of an issue as we focus on goals in the future.

Growing a company offers an endless number of challenges as well as the opportunities to improve together and individually.
