Pros
Great benefits, fairly competitive pay, 30-40 year career if desired, and incredibly stable company and industry. Love the people and leadership has genuine concern for its employees. Personally, I have had incredible leaders/managers that know how to inspire, encourage, and develop, but this is not cross company.
Cons
For many positions, especially in management level ranks, there is very poor work/life balance and more is always expected with less. Though it seems to be changing over the last few years, there is not enough skills development (e.g., leadership). Much of the time, employees are asked for innovative solutions and challenged to grow and change. Even though it is stated, new ideas are often snuffed by tradition and speaking up, if a leader disagrees, is often remembered and counted against you. Very few opportunities to move up since no one is retiring just yet. Can hit a professional ceiling and then possibly become disengaged.
