Pros

Most of the people at SoarTech are incredibly kind and friendly. I would recommend this company to anyone who: - wants to have a life outside of work - prefers great salary and benefits - finds purpose outside of work

Cons

I left because I did not feel valued or invested in by leadership. I was placed in a role I was overqualified for from the start, and during my first month, leadership (the CTO) promised to invest in its new team of jr scientists by holding monthly 1:1 meetings, strategizing, etc.—ultimately, mentoring its youngest team of scientists so they could grow and contribute. But talk is cheap and that discussion never went beyond the initial meeting with the CTO. 6-7 months later, I found myself repeatedly asking for opportunities to learn and develop my skills without mentorship, guidance, or direction from leadership. First red flag. Second red flag. I was placed on projects that had little to nothing to do with my expertise and skill set. I did not feel like I was learning and growing, and I certainly did not feel like I had the resources, opportunities, and feedback that would set me to succeed. Finally, the culture was relatively cutthroat, making it even more difficult for any jr scientist to learn and grow. There was very little collaboration, and more senior scientists were already fighting with each other over who would lead various topics and the CTO was contributing to this culture. After telling my supervisor that I would be looking for another job bc I did not feel there was an opportunity for growth @ SoarTech, this feedback was shared with leadership. I put in my two weeks about 2-3 months later bc still nothing had changed.
