Pros
This place could be a 4-star place if you're looking for a start-up like culture but with a bit more security and bureaucracy and quite a bit of work (I guess similar to startups) but 1/2 star experience to those looking for a chiller, comfortable experience. That said: - company very much still in an active growth mode and topline is growing well too so there's good job security - senior leadership generally are capable, knowledgeable, decent people who are more approachable than I've seen at other places - there are lots happening in good and bad ways - Sobi attracts passionate people who have lots of ideas (also not so good at times) - Active ERG scene, very patient-centric, and there's a good community feeling amongst the employees (haven't seen too many competitive type) - Sobi north america is quite progressive with DEI initiatives (global probably not). I've seen most PoC here vs elsewhere - kind of goes along with the above points: I feel like I can bring my whole self even though our leadership looks predominantly white males (i'm a minority) - overall comp package is average / maybe slightly lower than peers - sobi north america encourages people to explore different functions internally through rotations
Cons
Many cons, as with any other company and you gotta pick your poison: - company runs very lean, like you don't get to coast even if you are VP+ - because everyone including your boss and his/her bosses will be busy, unless you luck out with exceptional people developers as your manager, you may not get much support with development outside of getting stretch opportunities which are plenty - because everyone's passionate with lots of ideas, crossfunctional decision making is always tricky - some challenges / power struggles with global, adding to the decision paralysis - med insurance not so good
