Pros
By far this is the best work environment I've experienced. I actually enjoyed going to the office. The culture is driven by the CEO and it is something he cares about deeply. To him, SIS is a "family." I had a great manager and enjoyed my co-workers. The company is extremely flexible in terms of working from home when necessary (such as a sick child). Snacks and sodas are stocked monthly for employees free of charge. The company is full of bright, intelligent people who like to work hard and have some fun. All in all, SIS serves as a great place to work.
Cons
Currently SIS is going through some growing pains. When I first joined on, there were less than 100 employees and many had been with the company for several years. Turnover was fairly rare. However, the company has invested in several large initiatives, primarily their cloud-services data center, and it has changed the way SIS needs to operate. Turnover has become far more common as the company struggles to find the right mix and number of resources needed to be successful. Furthermore it appears the company is starting to tackle strategic initiatives/decision without fully doing their due diligence. A new product line was launched prior to being fully baked - the business plan was ill-conceived and not fully thought out. The back-end support for the product was not properly established so the customer experience suffered and the project was shut down within a year. Lines of business and operational approaches are being rethought, and it appears decisions are being made with near-sighted objectives in mind instead of long-term goals.
