Pros

- Great brand that carries weight in the industry - Exposure to all facets of the gaming industry - Its a collaborative environment within major departments

Cons

- Business practices generally always trail leaders in the industry (and even more that of progressive market leaders in SF, London, Tokyo). HR, Business, Marketing, Finance, Legal all feel challenged by the weight of the organization and inability to respond to the changing employment & consumer markets it is operating in. - It is not a sophisticated operation which people tend to expect. Much is taped together, done last minute, and reactive - Compensation is behind the curve - Talks about compensating based on performance, fairly subjective processes by the end of the year resulting in unfair distributions (and then a lack of transparency( - A lot of politicking, feet dragging, and winning by inaction across departments

Pros

Good culture in my department. Positive, supportive, professional. Work life balance has improved. Generally less crunch culture, although overtime hasn't completely disappeared. It happens but in my view the company does seem to be making efforts to avoid crunch as much as possible. Benefits are good.

Cons

Culture depends on the team. It's a big company and sometimes you may work with different departments, studios or teams who aren't supportive or professional. Can take a long time for the company to deal with problematic employees. Decision making from company leadership can be baffling. Limited opportunities for advancement. This has always been true, but it has gotten worse due to the economy and a certain administration. Pay could be better.
