Pros

Both the manager and CEO of Source Enterprises are friendly and approachable individuals. If you have any questions about the material, feel free to ask them, because they want your experience to be valuable. I learned a lot about Joomla as well as how to use and stylize Joomla templates. I gained experience in working with and assisting fellow interns. I also gained experience in graphic design work. I enjoyed the mellow, relaxed, atmosphere of Source Enterprises. This is a great internship for college students or those looking to change career paths.

Cons

Sometimes the goals within the internship were not clear or well-defined. People like to work towards specific, well-defined goals, otherwise it becomes difficult to stay motivated, especially at a non-paid internship. Also, sometimes it seemed like certain tasks were being assigned to the wrong people. I am getting a degree in Graphic & Web design, and sometimes I was assigned marketing tasks, which I know absolutely nothing about. However, I explained this to management and it was quickly and easily resolved. Still, I would have liked to have more say in the tasks that I was assigned.

Pros

Gained hands-on experience and relevant skills in web development in an open, laid-back environment. Great co-workers always willing to teach and learn. Flexible and progressive management. Really liked the quick learning pace and engaging training process!

Cons

Training was often put off for real projects. Sometimes felt unprepared for certain tasks. Work load fluctuates greatly.

Pros

The ability to work with real world situations is a big plus. Interns are truly given an opportunity to show what they can do. Mentoring is always available which is a big plus. People here demonstrate their skills to others. Like the start up mentality that creates the teamwork necessary for success. I believe the organization has potential.

Cons

While there is support, a lot of time you're on your own which can be frustrating. However, it is a valuable part of the learning experience.
