Pros

This was my first job out of graduate school. I started as a case manager. I had helpful, supportive coworkers. My supervisor was pretty good. I was promoted to a counselor position. It was a good opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients and gain counseling experience. I worked with experienced, helpful coworkers in both the positions I held.

Cons

My pay was extremely low compared to other agencies when I worked as a casemanager. I had a Master's degree and volunteer experience and clinicals, and I started at about $12 an hour in 2013. It really made me mad because a coworker with a law degree and no experience at all told me that she started at about $16 an hour. My pay as a counselor was decent (about $15.30 an hour). My main problem with the company is that management seemed to tolerate two verbally abusive workers (one of whom was a supervisor). Also, 60 hour work weeks were the norm there for counselors.
