The compensation is higher, in many cases, than other companies. The health benefits, paid holidays, and 401K are excellent as well.
Cons
Pointing out the “cons” can either focus on negativity or offer constructive criticism. I choose the latter. Transparency, openness, and communication are not things that are owed by an employer, but from an employee's point of view, they are expected. That’s why these attributes are considered management's best practices, in other companies. The absence of communication, intended or otherwise, can breed anxiety, stress, tension, and misinformation that perpetuates rumors. Employees don’t create the environment, employers do. It’s management's responsibility to listen, observe and adapt accordingly. Communication, whether it's good or bad news, is the key to maintaining an environment that attracts and retains good workers. Communication is twofold, give and take. Employees want to be listened to, not ignored, and dismissed. As the company grows, perhaps it will evolve as well. For the sake of all the hard working, and decent employees at Spectra Medical, I hope the evolution is inevitable.
