Business Outlook
Pros
Customer interactions, high end products, casual work environment. I love working with vendors and customers. Somewhat flexible schedule.
Cons
The Marketing Manager is really an inside sale position with some project management thrown in. 80% of your time is spent making 'educational' calls, but those calls are really targeted cold calls. Your main goal is to set appointments from those calls for the Owner. It all depends on the studio, but at my studio I have to develop the call list(from where?), call to meet a quota a day, and set appointments, all while dealing with about 1/2 of the orders coming in, and all of the vendor interaction. Also, the pay is low, and there are no benefits to speak of.
