Not for me - Remote Financial Counselor Spring Fertility Employee Review

Pros

Fully remote position means no commute costs. PTO approval was generally easy when requested in advance.

Cons

1. Unsustainable workload The volume of accounts assigned could not be handled in a normal 8-hour day. Nights and weekends quickly became the norm despite being “remote.” 2. Minimal, one-and-done training You’re told a procedure once and expected to execute perfectly. There’s no structured documentation or shadowing period—just sink-or-swim. Mistakes trigger emails to the director instead of coaching. 3. Shadow micromanagement Officially “no micromanaging,” but the lead monitors every move on the director’s behalf while juggling her own full caseload. It creates constant pressure and mixed messages. 4. Quantity over quality culture Metrics focus on how many files you touch, not how accurately you resolve them. That mindset invites errors and burnout. 5. Role overload for leads The team lead is simultaneously trainer, supervisor, and frontline counselor. With no dedicated trainers, new hires fall through the cracks.
