Pros
Colleagues were amazing. Products are cool.
Cons
President's latest tweet (with an inspiring self portrait) stated, "As the President and CEO of Starkey, I remind myself every day that I work for the people of Starkey, not the other way around." Funny. I remember working long hours, late nights and weekends bending over backwards for things this guy demanded last minute. No concern or care for employee workload or literal logistics. He snaps his fingers, and everyone scrambles to do what he says - even when everyone involves knows his ask is unrealistic and will cause an unbelievable and unnecessary amount of strain on the people he "works for." Leaders in his pocket are too afraid to tell him otherwise. They politely nod and say they'll get it done - without knowing if it can actually be done or at what sacrifice. These leaders are enabling this behavior and losing employees. If you're thinking about applying for a job in Marketing, I urge you not to. Long-time employees are leaving weekly. The only ones staying are the "mini-mes" of the leaders mentioned above.
