Pros

Beautiful new office. The product and service are great but are not sold too cheaply and are not user led in design. Often products seem like they are designed without use cases. The platform is really great and some clients love it. Fun atmosphere until the recently.

Cons

Management poorly communicates. Promotions don't seem rooted in quantifiables but rather personality and allegiance. Communication with headquarters is poor. Marketing is not functioning properly. We are undergoing layoffs. Senior management described it as "investing in our employees". The company is not doing well globally. Sales are down. The US is the only location that is doing well and now are numbers are looking bad. Management needs to be transparent about what is going on and forging a path forward.

Dear colleague, Thank you very much for your feedback. Although we can understand your concern during these challenging times, we would appreciate it if you kept your evaluation to the facts. There is hardly any question of "the company not doing well". Of course, like many other companies, we have to deal with the current economic situation, which means that our growth this year will be slightly lower than originally planned. But apart from the economic situation, the main reason for this is that we are currently making our decisions more cautiously in order to avoid layoffs. "Investing in our employees" means that we would rather spend our money on increasing our current colleagues' salaries to help them deal with inflation than hiring lots of new people. That has nothing to do with layoffs. We want to come out of this situation just as strong as we came out of the Corona crisis (which we mastered without layoffs and short-time work and during which we were even able to achieve significant growth). This goal, including a comprehensive analysis of our current business situation, was also presented very transparently to all employees by the management during our last townhall meeting. We are wondering very much why you have the impression that Statista is in a bad position? Please let us know via jobs@statista.com - we are very curious and interested to learn about the background of your statements. Best regards, Imke (Team Talent Acquisition)

Pros

I can't speak for everyone that works here, but considering my specific department and what I do, I love working here and I love the environment I get to do it in. Still get to work from home some days. FANTASTIC parental leave, generous vacation and health days that in crease with a few years in. Friendly office filled with co-workers you actually want to be around. I always say the job is yours to lose if you do what you're supposed to and do it well you shouldn't face too many issues here.

Cons

- Salary needs to be more competitive - Biggest bottleneck is often having to go through our headquarters in Germany which can take forever especially if it's after hours for them and we're still working (wish we were more self-reliant or allowed to be) - Low budget set for profit centers to be able to do certain job functionalities properly sometimes. - Health Insurance needs to be better (better coverage for better pricing) - Missing 401K company match

Dear colleague, Thank you for your detailed and positive review and for sharing your long-term perspective. We’re very pleased to hear that you enjoy your role, the work environment, and the flexibility, benefits, and parental leave offered, as well as the strong sense of community in the New York office. We also appreciate your open and constructive feedback regarding compensation, local autonomy, budgets, and benefits such as health insurance and retirement plans. These are important topics, and perspectives from experienced colleagues help inform ongoing discussions and improvements, particularly across regions. Thank you for your continued commitment and engagement. We’re glad to have you as part of the team and wish you continued success at Statista. Best regards, Team Talent Acquisition

Pros

-The only pro is the people, not any one in leadership (probably due to a trauma bond)

Cons

Where to even start, this company used to be a great company to work for where people came together to help eachother succeed. Our leaders used to care about your growth and success now you are just given more and more responsibility’s and expected to go above and beyond. Where hitting unrealistic targets is just seen as meeting expectations. Leaders and HR set a three days in office policy that employees are expected to adhere to while they never actually show up to the office or if they do they leave at 3pm. People are now often used as scapegoats, and what was once a people first, inclusive culture turned into a culture of blame, micromanagement and favoritism. Add all the above to below market salaries for NYC and that’s the type of company the Statista Americas is. It feels like a sinking ship that everyone is leaving before they have yet another round of layoffs. I would recommend to be very hesitant and in dire need of a job if you are thinking about working here.
