Pros

There is some occasional good team camaraderie and learning, some of the management cares.

Cons

So much neglected potential for an agency environment, recent negative shift in culture and management approach is most concerning (starting summer 2023). Hardly any leadership transparency, team collaboration, and not listening to the team compared with other agencies of this size. Inconsistent, detached CEO and new waves of layoffs without explanation. No 401(k) offered despite founders saying otherwise previously. No performance review given in 1.5+ years working there. No consistent career paths or change in comp despite performance. Disconnect between departments with different approaches, even if one client signs up for multiple services. Salespeople set unrealistic client expectations that team is then blamed for. Zero in-person events to help build team camaraderie. Not worth your time.

Your advice is spot-on and aligned to my people priorities; from your review it sounds like you have already left so would not unfortunately be around to experience the changes we have made over the past year. It sounds like you'd be pleased to hear that we now have career pathing, performance reviews, regular employee listening platforms and feedback loops. We also have folks in sales roles who are also strategists (hybrid roles) to ensure what we sell is completely in line with what we deliver. We also offer our full-time employees a 401(k) option. And this year our big focus has been on better integration so that our clients experience one cohesive team even when they come to us for multiple services. For those who need/expect lots of in-person events, this agency is probably NOT for you. That's not to say people never have the opportunity to get together (this past week, two team members attended a meta conference together. Recently we flew one of our strategists internationally to spend time with a client along with our CEO. So it can happen- but I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking this is a hybrid agency; we are fully remote). When I started at the agency a year ago, I met with everyone on the team 1to1 in my first month (and then decided to continue doing this practice) and I got SO much valuable feedback that has shaped my people strategy. We're on a journey! :-) Andrea (VP, People)

Pros

The people are thoughtful, driven, and genuinely kind. Collaboration is the norm, not the exception, and it’s a low-ego environment, which feels rare in the agency world. You’re trusted to do your job well without being micromanaged, with real autonomy and accountability. If you want to grow quickly and take on more responsibility, the opportunity is there. There’s a strong sense of purpose and pride in the work, and the company genuinely cares about doing right by clients. The bar is high, which isn’t for everyone, but it makes the work challenging and rewarding. This is a great place for people who want to do excellent work.

Cons

The bar is high and the work moves quickly. Because the team is fully remote, you need to be comfortable working independently and speaking up—there’s less passive learning than you’d get in an office environment.

Thank you for sharing your perspective on what makes working at Structured special for you, and also what you see as the candid realities of working in a fully remote agency environment, so that those who thrive in this setting will opt in (to the opportunities and also to the challenges). Your sentiment about the people at Structured being thoughtful, driven, and genuinely kind reflects what I typically hear and see as well, whether that be in my 1to1 check-ins with individuals, or on our peer recognition platform, or in the monthly all-hand meeting in which everyone gives a shout-out to a teammate who they see living our core values. I find your observations insightful about how a remote environment demands a certain level of comfort speaking up, needing to take a proactive approach to learning, and the ability to strike the balance between collaboration and working independently. Thank you for sharing! - Andrea (VP, People)

Hello there - thank you for leaving your review and offering your perspective. I'm glad to hear that you appreciated the team; that's been my experience too. I feel quite lucky to work with smart, interesting, and passionate people with diverse skills and deep expertise! As for your critiques, I can understand where you might be coming from. I'm unsure when you left the company, but it might be helpful to know that we now have two structured review cycles per year, inclusive of salary review, promotions, and pay raises, with decisions aligned to competency frameworks, manager input, and peer feedback to reinforce that we're celebrating those who are consistently living our core values. In this most recent cycle, I'm pleased to share that we were able to promote a third of our team, and in the past year, the majority of employees have seen increases to compensation. That being said, it sounds like that wasn't your experience, and I'm sorry to hear that. I'm hoping you are taking the good that came from your time with team, applying what you learned, and doing well now. Thanks again for the feedback! - Andrea (VP, People)
