Micromanagement - Software Engineer StudySmarter Employee Review

- The biggest problem I have faced was micromanagement. There was a lot of opinionated feedback on my pull requests. For example, I would be asked to change variable names or use a different loop function, even when the code was functional and met the requirements. This level of scrutiny made it difficult for me to get my work approved and slowed down the development process. Which overall impacted my confidence. - The second issue I faced was having my ideas stolen by senior developers. I had a couple of good engineering ideas, such as solutions for state management, that were not given any consideration. Later on, the same ideas were brought up by a senior developer and they received all the credit. This was demoralizing and made me feel unvalued as a member of the team. - Overall, my experience in this toxic environment was negative. While I did learn some things during my time at the company, the negative aspects far outweighed the positive ones.
