Pros

Starting salary over 13 pounds ph Zero hours contract to fit around your own studies You choose your own assignments

Cons

You have to travel to the tutees' home, adding travel time, travel costs and material preparation time, it actually pays poorly I teach Computer Science and Maths and there have been very few assignments People think they pay you money in exchange for good grades, generally students are very disinterested and don't want to learn Negative feedback from the tutees; when they don't understand something, they say it's because I don't have enough knowledge in the subject. Apparently my A*A*A equivalent is not good enough for them!

Pros

You get to set hours that fit around your own schedule while making a real difference in a student's academic journey and confidence. Along the way, you'll develop valuable skills in teaching, mentoring, and communication, all of which look great on a CV. You'll also find that explaining concepts to others is one of the best ways to deepen your own knowledge. All of this in a supportive and passionate team environment where you can truly see the impact of your work.

Cons

None! I loved being a Studybuddy during my time at university!
