Pros

Avoid. Do not recommend at all.

Cons

I was hired by Sykes Enterprises inc, and submitted all of the required documents to prove my identity/employment eligibility for the I9. Months into working for the company, I disclosed my disabilities and asked my supervisor for disability accommodations. A few days after disclosing my disabilities and asking for accommodations, I received notification stating the company required me to submit additional identity documentation and to get on video chat with them, hold up a specific document, that they requested, next to my face so they could compare my face and ID with the documentation that I submitted upon hiring or I'd be fired. I refused and they fired me. Last I checked federal US law prohibits employers from rejecting valid documents for what is required for the I9 form or E-Verify processes, and employers can’t require specific documents. According to USCIS and DHS regarding the I9 verification, they state employers should only compare the employee picture on file in E-Verify with the employee's document and NOT with the actual employee. Additionally, they also state employees are allowed to present acceptable documents that are listed on the I9 form, and employers are NOT allowed to dictate that employees present specific OR additional documents, because doing so violates federal laws that are supposed to prevent discrimination in the verification process.
