Opportunity to find your niche - Anonymous employee Synchro Software Employee Review

I started working for Synchro as an intern during the summer in the Berkeley, CA office for the Project Delivery Team and it was a great experience. As an intern I directly supported the Project Delivery Team in helping clients deliver projects with 4D for scheduling, construction management, and bid proposals; and create educational material for Synchro users. I enjoyed the work and company culture so much that I decided to continue working through the academic year. Through this experience I learned of the many pros of working for Synchro. One of my favorite things is working with such cool and skilled team that allows me to grow my skill set by giving the opportunity to work on different things each day. I can also say this about Synchro as a whole: you are always working with different clients on different projects in order to improve the construction industry with Synchro’s technologies. Another pro about Synchro is that is a global company, which has given me the opportunity to work on different projects from around the world, and also work with other team members of the project delivery team that are abroad. Although Synchro is global, it is also a small company, and I have met the entire Synchro Project Delivery (SPD) team during the annual SPD reunion. They are truly a great team to work with, which is motivated by their desire to improve construction. Something else that makes working for Synchro unique is that it is a software company, so I get to be among the first that see and work with new technologies like the HoloLens and the iPad, that are helping transform the way construction is done. The Berkeley office is also really cool. It is in the WeWork so there are always cool events during the week and you get to share spaces with other innovative companies.

A con of working for Synchro could be that it is a small company, so you need to get adjusted to a small-company culture.

Synchro is a fairly small company with a dynamic team of highly innovative skilled people located mostly in three locations - UK (London/Birmingham), Boston (Cambridge), and San Francisco (Berkeley). the software - known as "4D" or "4D BIM" - is amazing, it is going to literally change the construction industry in multiple markets, many of our clients are world class construction contractors, designers, and owners, looking for improvement, needing support. working in our offices is never boring, never "corporate", always engaging.

This is a small company, and everyone who works here needs to be proactive, flexible, and have a strong sense of teamwork. if you want to be a 'specialist' that does the same thing every day then this is not the company for you.
