Pros
1) You'll get a good understanding of how not to run a business and treat other human beings 2) You'll be able to recognize half-baked, dimwitted ideas and handle them appropriately in future business/finance settings post-TAP, assuming TAP hasn't drained the desire to work in the industry from you 3) You'll get used to not being thanked/rewarded for pushing yourself above and beyond on pitches/pet projects that clearly will go nowhere from the start 4) There is no deal flow, so you'll never have to feel the disappointment of working 100 hour weeks only to have the deal inevitably die 9 months later
Cons
1) Partners lack vision and only care about their wallets 2) Middle management only has their jobs because the firm can't hire anyone better. They know this, so they make everyone below them miserable. Throwing juniors under the bus is their favorite pastime 3) No training, no support, no work-life balance
