Pros

If you pay attention, you learn a lot about what makes a good song and artist. There is potential for you to be inspired by an artist who is submitting music for critiques.

Cons

The company is not relevant to the music industry and has a horrible reputation with the entire industry. It's not a positive environment to work in.

Pros

TAXI Independent A&R truly stands out as a music company because of how deeply they care about their members and how much the head boss cares for his employees. It’s clear that their mission goes beyond simply reviewing music and providing opportunities for musicians to take or leave, they actively advocate for their community and work hard to connect artists with real, meaningful industry opportunities. The leadership sets the tone from the top. The CEO is refreshingly honest and fair, operating with a level of transparency that’s rare in this industry. He genuinely wants people to succeed and takes the time to mentor and support those he works with, whether they’re artists, A&R screeners, or internal team members. What’s especially impressive is the openness to growth. TAXI isn’t stuck in its ways despite having been around for 34+ years, there’s a real willingness to evolve, listen, and improve, all while maintaining integrity and respect for its members. If you’re looking for an organization that values people, leads with honesty, is tight-knit and family-owned, and truly invests in helping not only creatives move forward in this industry, but also its employees learn and take on new projects, TAXI Independent A&R delivers.

Cons

None to report, see above, great company and owner is very understanding, smart, has years of experience, and takes the time to mentor those who are willing to put in the work and commit to the company! His mentorship completely changed my career path into music marketing and he still is a dear friend to this day, years after I last worked at TAXI.

Pros

During my time at Taxi I found it to be a great place to work. I'm quite surprised by the several anonymous negative reviews below, and knowing that competition in this industry is fierce, I'm actually suspicious. I remember many examples of members getting music deals and hearing from members on the phone about how happy they were with how much they have learned and improved their skills since joining taxi. Overall the CEO was a very honest, genuine and caring boss. He does look for and expect passion and dedication from his team and expects them to be focused on the members. If anyone found him otherwise, my suspicions are that they would have failed at most other companies and would have blamed the team around them and management as well. I have inside knowledge of things he has done privately for some employees who were going through a hard time that would blow your mind Company lunches, a strong company culture focused on members success and the annual road rally are all great. Knowing that we were truly helping members was even a huge plus.

Cons

The website needs to be updated (I believe this was close to finished last I heard)
