Pros

I worked at Teleperformance for seven years. In that time, I worked in Operations, Training, and Quality Assurance on multiple accounts. I moved up as high as Manager and back down to Agent, and eventually resigned while in a Supervisor role. All internal moves were due to “needs of the business.” Human Resources is the best part of the company by far – they do not usually take sides in disputes between employees and management. I was on both sides of cases and was always treated fairly. The opportunity to learn exists as well, but you have to take the initiative.

Cons

Several attempts at promotion as well as transfers were blocked by my immediate Supervisors, despite my being qualified for the positions. While in support roles, overtime is not usually an option, but all work has to be completed in 40 hours or less to avoided disciplinary action. This can include your immediate supervisor’s if they take time off or state they just do not have time to do it themselves. It is also very easy to offend members of upper management while doing exactly what you are told. Some will do anything that it takes to make their numbers, then tell their superiors they never said ‘x’, placing the Agents in danger of being fired. There have also been repeated allegations of sexual misconduct by members of management. While it usually results in the removal of guilty parties, the cycle repeats every 2-3 years.

Pros

For the most part, I have an open availability. I do however, like not having to work on Sundays. Some campains allow for a 1 hour lunch break. The hiring process was fairly easy. Your equipment is provided. There is opportunity for advancement. They are helpful when it comes to license renewal. Calls are back to back which for me seems to make time go faster. Flexibly as to when you want to take your lunch break. You have to opportunity to assist people without having to feel it was rushed. Off all major holidays.

Cons

Rushed training that may leave some questions unanswered. I feel like I had to figure things out on my own. Getting the assistance you need to help a client took longer than it should, especially when the client is on on hold, waiting for your response. At times some trainers seem to be unprepared for the roll they have taken. Calls are frequently monitored. Not much time between calls. It can take too long to transition from on campain to the next after the project has ended.
