Pros
Taylor Stitch only employs brilliant & talented individuals with experience in the arts, especially men's fashion. It is a fun and creative environment to work in and the work load for sales associates is low, making jobs at Taylor Stitch particularly attractive to college students. Taylor Stitch has a pretty relaxed culture for employees. The owners, the employees and even some customers party together very often so maintaining employment depends on how well you fit in socially and personally with the team.
Cons
Taylor Stitch's biggest downfall is also one of its greatest strengths. It is ran family style; the owners of the company create an environment where you feel like everyone is great friends and everyone will make it when the company makes it. Therefor, the employees feel obligated to take one for the team and overlook the fact that they are often not properly compensated for their work. Employees are often expected to work overtime without time and a half pay. Employees are often expected to eat their lunch while sitting in the store because stores are understaffed and the scheduling of the stores does not provide lunch coverage. The owners allow full time employees free clothing in exchange for overlooking these issues however this perk benefits male employees more than female employees. The free clothing perk also contributes to a culture of entitlement and internal theft amongst employees.
