Pros

Featured in hit TV show "Silicon Valley" as part of an elaborate masturbation comedy bit. Decent severance pay. AOL CEO sends hilarious, seemingly coked-up "moral booster" emails every couple of months.

Cons

In order further delivery of online advertising and tracking cookies for it's parent company AOL (now "Oath"), TechCrunch mostly publishes thinly veiled press releases from tech companies and startups as "news" via a vintage website and campy events. Several employees struggle to make improvements to the many obvious and embarrassing shortcomings of the company, only to be let go as soon as the ignorant and self-serving, management notices.

Pros

Really supportive editors, room to progress, lots of freedom to write about what you think is most compelling on your beat.

Cons

It is fully remote - though some people may love this!
