Pros
The business serves a fascinating and demanding market. Much is made of the company direction and the purpose of the company. If you are able to connect your role to this it really is empowering. Management sets a high bar but is also increasingly transparent about where the company is going and why decisions are being made. There’s a strong focus on performance, which won’t be for everyone, but if you’re motivated and want to progress, there are genuine opportunities to take on more responsibility. I’ve personally seen people step up into bigger roles over a relatively short period of time. The company continues to grow and over the last couple of years there was better alignment between teams, and more consistency in how things are run. Compensation has improved and is more in line with performance and market which feels fair.
Cons
It’s a demanding environment and expectations are high. That can mean long hours at times, although you are given a lot of autonomy. As the company grows, there are still some areas where processes are catching up, and communication between teams isn’t always perfect. As I moved away, I wasn't able to keep my role which was disappointing.
