Pros

The students get a 5. The platform usually works.

Cons

Pay is abysmal. In order to make a living wage you would have to work 100 hours per week. You aren't even allowed to sign on for that much time, but if they find out you work on another platform they let you know that they don't like that. When it comes time for them to pay you there is often a problem. They use an old-fashioned wire transfer method of payment instead of updating to quicker more transparent payment like PayPal or WISE. You cannot make suggestions to them. They just tell you that you are wrong and their way is better. For each half hour you spend teaching you spend AT LEAST 5 minutes writing reports including making up a homework assignment. The teaching platform offers out-dated, incorrect units that they want you to do even though there is language that is unusable because it is totally inappropriate. Teachers can contact the administration with corrections but ten years later, the corrections have not been made. There is no way to advance. The company receives about $100 per class and the teacher is paid about 5 percent of that. There is online practice offered to students who pay for it but there really isn't much to that. You can do way better looking online for practice materials from other sources. Teachers do not have the opportunity to meet other teachers so there is not way to compare notes on what is going on. The supervisors are nice enough and can be helpful if you have a question but you are really on your own and you cannot make a living here. There are a lot of very talented teachers who speak multiple languages and really do understand language acquisition but they are treated as bad as an Amazon driver. There are other teachers who are not so qualified.
