Pros

Amazing team. People that pulled together to get anything done no matter the deadlines or circumstances, and did amazing, creative work for cool clients while doing it. (Formerly) Great culture of mutual love and respect.

Cons

The new leadership that came in 2 years ago has been an unmitigated disaster. They didn’t just ruin the culture, they frankly murdered it. Layoffs of tenured contributors while bringing in old friends unannounced to the team, adding layers and layers of upper management and support while the number$ are going down (and then laying off actual “doers”) Claiming open door policy, but only of you go through the executive assistant and set up a meeting weeks later. Throwing lavish late holiday party, lots of executive meals at high end restaurants, and then laying people off. Laying off 2 groups of people at a company this small, then refusing to name who was laid off like we aren’t going to be able to figure it out. Laying off designers and locking them out of their machines so they can’t pull any portfolio material or personal files? 2 rounds of layoffs, the leftovers having to pick up the slack because there seems to be plenty of work a month after the layoffs, more contractors appearing unannounced, how many long-tenured employees have left voluntarily now??? And everyone else is simultaneously stressed about their workload while stressed at looking over their shoulders for when the axe will fall on them. And through it all, upper management shows zero empathy, zero remorse, zero accountability and in 2 years have offered pretty much zero in the way of actual leadership or vision, while speaking with contempt behind closed doors about the people that put in the sweat equity building this thing that they’ve callously torn down. The bus has left the station indeed. Who erases their own history? All the social and portfolio vanished behind a non-brand before a re-brand that no one asked for is ever figured out? Again, without offering even a heads up or explanation of what’s going on? ...and then 6 weeks after layoffs they’re advertising for a designer job on LinkedIn without reaching out to any of the people they laid off because their wasn’t enough work? Please, creatives, stay away, this place is rotten to the core.

Pros

The projects are pretty fun and you get to work on some really cool IP with industry-leading titles and software. The team is super competent and worth their salt. I found myself learning a lot from the FTEs. The pay is really fair and competitive for the market rate due to the clients they work with.

Cons

Clients can be difficult to work with as there are many layers of red tape that have to be cut through and sometimes multi-international timezones for feedback. When the workload is good, it can be almost dizzying the amount of pieces need to be output and revised. File management is OK but could be improved upon a bit (OneDrive can be a headache). Workload can go from 100-0 almost overnight depending on the time of year and client budget.
