Pros

Its in the media space, and so the problems, challenges and opportunities are ultimately not that serious. Because the business is constantly struggling to manage costs, you are forced to be quite resourceful to get things done. You'll be presented with many varied challenges, and so can learn a great deal.

Cons

"The fish rots from the head". The single biggest con of this business is the people running it. It's become a culture of Ivory Tower management, with increasingly toxic behaviour from middle - upper management, commonly observed in new starters from close competitors. * People are not trusted to do the jobs they are hired to do, nor recognised for their work despite achieving a great deal with limited resources * Promotions and pay rises only come from people resigning - if at all * Key roles are not replaced and often entire teams and divisions disappear as though they never existed * The amount of time wasted on powerpoint slides and needless meetings that do nothing to advance the business is hard to comprehend * Culture and values are incongruent with actions. They are words on slides and at 'Upfronts' to impress peers in the industry, but have little substance 10 used to be known for its culture. Even when times were tough, the culture would keep things going. That no longer exists. Unless you thrive in this type of environment or have exceptionally thick skin, advise you to pursue other opportunities.

Pros

Hardworking team making a lot with the resources they have.

Cons

The closing of the Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth bulletins was obviously not ideal but I understand why it was done

Pros

Atmosphere of mutual respect. The lowest paid workers sit on the same quality of chairs as the highest paid workers.

Cons

Rather than being rehired i had my ideas recycled by other employees
