Pros

The Distance’s greatest asset is the team that has been assembled. All kinds of individuals have unified under one banner to create a truly wonderful family that works together for the betterment of all. The Distance is a unique place to work. The very office itself is a bizarre building with stairs that defy gravity and lopsided rooms. All of this adds a certain charm to the place; the best and most interesting things in life are abnormal. There are many opportunities on offer for personal development, and it has been the case on several occasions that jobs form around the individual - the individual does not necessarily have to fit the job. I love going to work. I love the people I work with. I love the work that I do. Most importantly, I love that I am given autonomy, and that I can make mistakes so long as I learn from them.

Cons

The working day is 8 hours excluding a half hour lunch break. 8 hours total would be fantastic - a small flaw in an otherwise great company!

Pros

I thoroughly enjoyed working for The Distance and was sad to go. For me the benefits were: * Diverse and friendly team * Great office culture * High spec equipment * Ensured we had all equipment needed to work comfortably and efficiently at home * Varied and interesting projects * Regular social meet ups (pre covid) * Well defined process for new business and lifecycle of project * Learn a lot and gain a lot of experience through the variety of projects * Training courses available to employees * Regular company meetings on state of business and forum to express views and suggestions * MD is very creative and active in the company which leads to an influx of interesting and industry varied projects * Company take mental health and wellbeing very seriously, there was always someone I could talk to if needed

Cons

There's not many cons I can think of; * Not a lot of time for learning/training during working hours, need to learn on your feet often - the plus side is you learn a lot and gain experience quickly, but can be a bit stressful * Work pace is quite fast and varies on a daily basis - I enjoyed this, but it's not to everyone's taste * During the pandemic, while WFH - Work-life balance could be hard to maintain, but management are approachable and empathetic. * Perks package could be improved
