Pros

Some of the pros include: -Great need and good initiative for the founders -You get to meet and work with some very smart people -Relevant team building experience -Good opportunity to get some experience outside academia -Will help you have business/industry experience in the resume -Also you can benefit from the networking events organized

Cons

-The time commitment is longer than expected or advertised ( they expect 10 hours/week commitment but it is really a lot more than that if you want to do a good job). It is doable if you participate during a low work load semester -The first phone interview was ok, the second interview was very hard. I felt that I was "under attack" about most things I said and at times it was intimidating. I like directness but the interviewer became offensive in many occasions -the CEO is difficult to work with, not sure if it is part of her strategy, or whether she has bad interpersonal skills; awkward and unpleasant personality -Some people in the team tend to not contribute a lot [ but I guess this happens and is part of working in a team, unless there is a mid-review procedure in place or you communicate it to your team leader]

Pros

Im a phd student in neuroscience and i applied for TSL internship where i got an immediate response asking for a phone interview. It turned out to be 15 minutes of general questions. This process was really straight forward and simple. A couple of days after i received an email for my second round of interviews. This time it was a 30 min online interview with the CEO of the company. The interview went pretty well since the interviewer made it super easy to communicate with. She asked me scientific questions and experimental solving. She also thoroughly explained the projects available for me to choose, and in those projects she explained every step of how much job as an intern would be. Amongst other interviews i had for other intern positions, this was the one i enjoyed the most since the CEO treated me super well, she showed me a deep human side and she taught me concepts i didn't know. I really enjoyed speaking with her. She offered me the job instantly and the starting date was a couple of months later. In between i got another personal project on board so i couldn't commit to join the TSL. I expressed this to the company and they totally understood it. I had other friends working for them and based on their experiences i would definitely recommend TSL to start a path in finance/consulting. After joining, the amount of experience and knowledge in the field let them transition to a full time position without major difficulties. Its great for when you are about to finish a degree in academia (Masters/PhD, etc) and you plan to switch to finance.

Cons

I honestly can not think about any cons at the moment
