Great place to learn, tough place to stay - Business Analyst Third Point Employee Review

Pros

Good pay, lots to of projects to work on

Cons

Management does not give time for projects to complete. Expect to be working on something for 3 months and having the project be tossed to the side because of a change in management's priorities. These requests seem to come up ad hoc and are more of an ego project for C-Suite than actual operational efficiency.

Pros

Management was extremely invested in the interns' success, very hands-off but still supportive while letting us be self-directed and self-paced with our work. Analysts and MDs alike were happy to take time to teach us new skills or give feedback on models, and would often selflessly let the interns pitch ideas they had helped on to executives. I felt very welcomed and wanted and the entire team was incredibly friendly. Everyone was smart, hardworking, selfless, and also cool. Work-life balance was great: working hard and long hours was the implicit expectation, but there was no pressure whatsoever.

Cons

There isn't a structured intern program, so some days can be super busy and others can be completely empty. You need a certain level of intrinsic motivation to succeed even when tasks aren't handed to you.

Pros

Benefits + in office perks (gym, lunch, etc)- but that’s it. And not worth it!

Cons

This place has a massive cloud of negative energy over it. The CEO/executives are extremely rude and toxic, which sets the tone for all employees being nasty to each other. It’s like high school. I’ve never felt so poorly treated in a work environment. There’s a reason no one stays here for long!
