Pros

- Great people who really care about you learning the business as it serves the business as much at it serves you - You will develop soft skills as well as technical skill giving you a great toolkit that will serve you very well - You will develop a mastery of excel that is valuable where ever your career takes you - Exposure to many industries, financial processes, and learning opportunities

Cons

- Long hours (You won't escape this in any financial role that is worth its salt) - Autonomy that lends itself to "Sink or Swim" culture - Fluid work flow can make it hard to find a structured process

Pros

- legitimately fun to learn about the companies we work with and how they operate - everyone I worked with was extremely smart and approachable - managers at every level are able to maintain great relationships with their employees while gently challenging them to do their best work; never heard junior employees say anything but good things about their managers - WFH flexibility is grand

Cons

there's definitely a steep learning curve for new employees, so the first few months can be a little bit chaotic. work gets significantly more manageable (and interesting) after ~4/5 months.

Pros

You will master Excel shortcuts. fellow analysts have good camaraderie. Good snacks, and casual dress code compared to strict finance corps. Upper level management is caring and considerate.

Cons

Very little exposure to other divisions. Long hours and no regard for employee's personal well-being. You are expected to meet a quota and this number is what you will be judged on, little else is taken into consideration. Don't value interpersonal skills and room for growth is almost non-existent. Expect to spend 3+ years before expanding your opportunities. Middle management is laughable - no social skills and unable to fein concern for you as a person (not necessary but appreciated).
