Pros
The underlying AI is truly cutting edge. More importantly, the way it's delivered and productized has the clear potential to radically improve experiences in a typically upsetting time (accident or natural disaster). I was really driven by Tractable's mission! The team that they put together around this mission was also fantastic. Folks were across the board collaborative and had an unwavering get-it-done mentality. No worries about politics - just a lean/driven team working towards a clear achievable mission together.
I really enjoyed the experience. Never before did I have such an opportunity to help push an entire industry forward!
Cons
The company has high expectations for every role. If you're looking for a cushy gig - this would not be a good place for you. If you're looking to grow and solve lots of interesting challenges, they give you the latitude and tools to get there.
Also, a big mission also comes with big challenges! If you're trying to push an entire industry forward and help them to modernize, there's definitely going to be people who have a vested interest in seeing the company/solution fail.
