Pros

I learned some things while I was there and had an opportunity to work with some very good clients. They are very dedicated to the business and to their clients. It's an o.k. place for an entry-level person to get started.

Cons

This closely-held family-owned business, has all the typical problems you'd expect when working for family members who are highly competitive with each other and allow their personal relationships to affect their business functions and decisions. Employee empowerment and opportunity for growth are virtually non-existent. Performance objectives are set by management, with little or no input or agreement from staff, often represent additional, outside-of-work time, and have little or nothing to do with the job the employees was hired to do. Expect to be micromanaged, even if you are senior level staff; that's the culture. Expect them to monitor personal blogs & social networking sites, and community, civic and professional organizations you belong to, and that they will require that you request approval for any public presentations (e.g., writing for trade magazines, presenting at meetings and conferences, etc.), even when you are doing them on your own time and dollar, and they have nothing to do with work. They are paranoid about security, proprietary information, and showing the company in the best possible light, so go completely overboard in their efforts to control employees.

Pros

Very punctual in alerting consultants on contract extensions. Very professional in the way they handle and request confidentiality. The client TrainingFolks set me up with provided multiple contract extensions.

Cons

I unfortunately wasn't set up with another project after my final contract extension expired.
