Pros
Pay is good for my location a lot of travel and it is an easy job. You'll do interesting things and meet interesting people. Per diem, if your shift last at least 8hrs (most do)
Cons
if you happen to have kids, a husband, or a wife..." that you enjoy" this is not the job for you. most of the time you are out late and back in early in the morning. DOT requires 8hrs of downtime, that's what you'll get...(If your lucky) plenty of OT at this Job. Like I said it is a good job and great pay butt little in recognition for the sacrifice your family will have to make. Being unable to stop mid-run for bathroom/Meal breaks is unacceptable but in the culture of hurry and get here/there that is one necessity that goes by the wayside. The ever-evolving directions for the job take some getting used to (but that's the name of the game) This is a job like almost any corrections job with changing directives based primarily on knee jerk reactions. At my location when you request a day off you will more than likely have it granted to you but be prepared to be in early (IE 3am) the next day
