Pros

You work remotely and have flexible hours. Some of the work is interesting. Initially administration is responsive. It's a good place to get your feet wet with transcription and captioning.

Cons

Training is non-existent. Pay is pretty bad. My pay went into my paypal account promptly. When I had issues with a batch of files, I send my supervisor a note with the details. These files were due in 24 hours. I had to follow up with her several times. It took her a week to get back to me. First, she "wasn't receiving my emails" even though she received the last followup I sent. Then she was going to take an in-depth look at my files. 5 days pass and I try to touch base with her again, no response. Then, another 15 days without a word. I reach out again and she replies immediately from her phone saying that she responded to me on the last email and I should check my spam folders LOL I'd been receiving mail from her with no issue prior to that and had just received that particular email as well as the ongoing team emails without issue. Obviously there was nothing in my spam folders because she probably never responded. So I asked her to please resend the email. Again she miraculously replied immediately saying that she would "check to see if it's still on the servers, when she gets back to the office". That was 5 days ago. These people are completely unprofessional and unresponsive. I'm a single mom of 2 teens, who works a full-time job -- I understand being busy. But if I could find the time to email my manager to get some support for a job I was doing for them, they can certainly find the time to respond to the inquiry. Amateurs. p.s. I marked "current employee" because I haven't received any communication about the support I requested or about them terminating me. I have no idea what my employment status is on their books. Ridiculous.

Pros

sounds great on paper. promised to make you a part of a highly professional, well paid organization

Cons

no upfront information on actual salaries/remuneration. getting through the training is extremely time consuming. after spending copious amounts of time and energy preparing to take the "pre" qualification exam, failed not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times. Each time, there is absolutely NO feedback on what you did wrong. So it's impossible to course correct. After all the hours spent and attempts to be accepted, the site shows they're not even accepting applications by way of taking an actual qualification exam. Their qualifications are extreme. I say this as a published author, former high school teacher, and holder of a Master's Degree. I've never had any problems with punctuation or with following format. Used their style guide to ensure I was doing everything right. Total waste of time.
