Pros

*Father/son owners that work hard staying ahead of the competition. *Owners are hands on but if you do your job and don't waste time chatting/hanging out. I felt management only wanted status updates more for customer service/productivity reasons more than policing staff. The father owner started his company in his basement and built it to where it is today by hard work and puts in the same effort asked of staff. *I was on a short term basis with a set pay but noticed if staff wanted advancement or salary increase management were positive. My teammate submitted points supporting her requests and she said she was very happy with the results. *Encourages further education, willing to cross train, and does not limit staff who want to learn there or any of their other affiliated companies. *flexible schedules and allows staff to work remote. I could work from home if my kids were sick which was priceless to me as a single mom. *I've seen complaints of the insurance cost but it is the best insurance I've had. I added up my family's co-pays and out of pockets with my last job and I paid more than TPA's total cost with my 2 kids and my monthly medications. Interviewing now for permanent positions with companies that have horrible coverage and almost as expensive as TPAs. Its just how you look at the big picture. *Great holiday parties that are geared towards employee appreciation and i knew in advance the days the company was closed around Christmas which I saw as a good thing and since I could work remote I planned ahead with my PTO and had no issues. I did not have to worry about possibly not being able to take time off, it was given.

Cons

The only con I would say for some would be that potential raises and/or promotions are initiated by the employee instead of an annual performance review. The flip side to that cpuld ve if you took on more responsibility and was successful then you have the option to request additional pay you felt was warranted vs waiting for an annual review where traditionally increases are limited. I guess it is all in how you look at it.
