Cons
Where does one begin? Ever since Treez raised a $50mm series C round, it's been a downward trajectory. Leadership, from the director level on up, is incredibly toxic and oftentimes inexperienced. Most decisions are made in a vacuum and with little to no consideration or advance notice. Oftentimes, mandates would come down with an expectation that it's to be completed within hours - not days or weeks. Phrases like "work-life balance" were disallowed. Working 50-60 hours a week is considered insufficient. Most recently, the company has adopted the "wartime" concept described in the book "The Hard Thing About Hard Things." It's distasteful and disrespectful to describe working at a SaaS company in such a manner, with the CEO saying things like "we have to avoid the next mortar and gunfire." Lastly, recognition and kudos are non-existent. The leadership team, particularly the CEO, fully expects everyone to work as long and hard as they do. This comes with little to no incentive - even simple things like "good job" or "nice work" are non-existent. Nearly every accomplishment simply leads to the need to move on and complete the next task that has seemingly come out of the blue.
